Description

Al-Nesha is a CPA and the founder of ASE Group, a full-service accounting, tax, and advisory firm focused on empowering small business owners to build strong and sustainable businesses. ASE Group specializes in making the dollars make sense through solid recordkeeping, proactive tax planning, tax preparation, and year-round advisory support for entrepreneurs in the NJ/NY/CT/PA area.

Even with a brick-and-mortar location, we operate as a virtual practice which creates flexibility for both clients and team members. Using only cloud-based technology in a paperless environment, we can work from anywhere, secure our clients’ data, and share information seamlessly. We don’t charge our clients by the minute or the hour, and instead operate on a subscription model to encourage clients to reach out to us and share updates during the year versus waiting until tax time. This helps us to act proactively versus reactively and assist clients when they need us most – in the present while life is happening.

Al-Nesha is passionate about increasing the number of sustainable small businesses in marginalized communities through education, support, mentorship and advisory. She also feels very strongly about increasing the number of African-American CPAs. In support of these missions, she hosts free bookkeeping and tax classes to encourage taxpayers and business owners in her community to understand their finances. She also acts as a mentor with the National Society of Black CPAs to help aspiring African-American CPAs as they prepare for the exam and explore career opportunities. In addition to that, she is a mentor with her alma mater, Montclair State University, for undergraduate and graduate business students.

In addition to managing the firm, Al-Nesha  was recognized as a 2021 CPA Practice Advisor "40 Under 40" Professional, and is currently a Participant in the ProConnect Customer Council for Intuit Inc., 2021 – 2024, a member of the Intuit Trainer/Writer Network, an inaugural member of the CHIP Professionals Council (CHIP is bridging the gap between consumers of financial products and financial professionals of color), a member of the National Society of Black CPAs (NSBCPA), National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), a mentor at her alma mater, Montclair State University, the President of the 501c3 organization Black Owned Everything, and she also teaches a college-level bookkeeping course.

Al-Nesha believes we're all at our best when we're operating in our space of genius and intentionally making space in our lives for the 'nouns' that bring us joy. She starts each day asking "what can we do today to get our clients and ourselves more time to do what we're great at and what we love?"
